“Concentrate on your phonics instead of your artwork,” my first-grade teacher Miss Kunk wrote on one of my homework assignments. Seems I’d forgotten to write in the missing vowels in my haste to color all the pictures. Over forty years later I’m still coloring, working with many and varied organizations including Forbes, Hasbro, Pentagram, Reader’s Digest, U.S. News & World Report and The Wall Street Journal.

I recently discovered the addictive world of animation through Adobe After Effects and am focusing much of my time on creating videos. My current explorations involve importing layered Adobe Illustrator or Adobe Photoshop files into After Effects and animating the layers.

If you like what you’ve seen here, hire me. I’m now available to work on new projects. To discuss an assignment, please call or email. And thanks for taking a peek at my work. - Joe Gast
