Winterbourne and Write-on

Posted on Feb 17, 2012

I’m a big fan of instructional website Lynda.com and am slowly working my way through their Adobe After Effects videos. Yesterday I watched Chad Perkins demonstrate the Write-on effect. The Write-on effect animates strokes on a layer. You could use the effect to simulate the action of handwriting of cursive text or signatures. The effect is often used to make vines appear as though they are growing and that is exactly what I have done here. I drew a vine in Adobe Illustrator and imported it into After Effects, where I added the Write-on effect. The one vine became a jungle of vines with copy and paste. – Joe Gast
